Just get something different that costs the same or less than the Ice. Be sure to scan the Ice first so that it rings up with a price. That is what I did with the BOGO candy and I didn’t have any problems.

I bought 2 yesterday (nothing else) for $1.59 incl deposits. The 2nd one rang up as free. Will monitor to see what SS gives me. Last time I had an issue, they emailed me with a half-hearted rationale, something about how the computers ring up the items. But they credited me with the difference for my BOGO candy bars.

I had the same experience with a Rite Aid BOGOF deal and Saving Star. It wasn’t worth the time and stamp to write them, but I stopped doing any Saving Star deals that involved BOGOF.

I also did a Saving Star deal where I had a get one free coupon and paired it with a Rite Aid B2G1F deal and they only gave me 1/3 of the price of the one I paid full value for.

You can contact SS thru their website, which I’ve done several times, all with good results. They are consumer-friendly.

Last time I did a SavingStar freebie stacked with a RA BOGO, SavingStar gave me only 50% credit. The receipt showed full price $1.15 for one, $0 for the second. It was on Snickers bars or similar.
SS gave me only $.58 credit, but I wrote to them and they adjusted it.
