Looking for some fun baking recipes for you and your troops this New Years Eve? Check out Safeway’s Pinterest boards for some sweet inspiration. I found a fun Sugar Cookie Pop recipe and Nate and I went to work making the dough.
The rest of the kids helped with the decorating.

Ringing in the New Year with sparkling cider.

My favorite New Year’s activity is feeling indulgent, whatever that looks like for that particular season! Now, with young kids and no babysitter, it usually means getting take-out instead of cooking, making sure to have a good bottle of champagne or cider on hand, picking a few movies to watch after the kids go to bed, and making sure we stop whatever we’re doing to watch the ball drop and reflect on the year. I’m thinking since my diet starts Wednesday, pizza would be fabulous for tonight. π

We usually do something quiet for New Year’s, but it’s different every year. Sometimes it’s a board game night with friends, champagne at home, or watching movies.
Making hot artichoke and spinach dip. And oh my gosh– they make it main dish form! (Not a recipe I uploaded– but a pin that I pinned onto mine!) http://pinterest.com/pin/132785888985153640/ This is for the dip with noodles in a casserole!)

I’m going dancing. Gulp!
Making Pretzel sticks with the kids. It’s super easy and they love it. We go after Christmas and get the melts and christmas topping decorations on clearance… Melt the chocolates (melts or even chocolate chips) then dip the pretzel stick in and let the kids imaginations run wild! They love it when I make a special one with their names on it. If you get white melts you can use food coloring to make different colors of chocolate.
Getting takeout and movie time!!
