Shopping clearance at Target varies by store, but with a few tips, you can find some great deals on clearance items after the holidays.
1. One end cap of every department has clearance.
You can find books, toothpaste, tableware and more. These items can be priced from 15% to 50% off. You can pair these items with coupons to lower your out of pocket expense.
2. Scan all your items at those little red scanners to verify pricing.
Some items scan lower than they are marked. (Kids of all ages love doing this job!)
Other items look similar, but scan at two very different prices. The toys on the left scanned at $1.50, while their counterparts scanned at $5.
3. Purchase toys you can use for the any holiday or birthday.
These bubble blowers rang up at only $.59.
The Mega Blocks set was only $.89 and the crayons scanned at $.90.
4. Look for gift wrapping items and stickers.
Tissue paper and wrapping paper can be used for birthdays any time of the year. The wrapping paper was $1.19 and the tissue paper scanned at $.89 and $.44 each.
5. Baking items are a great deal as well.
These sprinkles can be used at Easter. The cupcake kit would be perfect for a girl’s birthday party. (**Note: These were only marked down to 30% off and should go lower in the next couple days.)
6. Find themed birthday party favors.
These pirate and robot party favors were marked down to $.90 each. These will work great in goodie bags for kids’ birthdays.
7. Holiday themed clothes go on clearance too.
These three piece sets were marked at $7.48.
Here is what Krista picked up at Target for $15.94. The crayons will be used at entertain creative children at restaurants, while the girl toys will be great additions to nieces birthday presents. (That Cabbage Patch doll was the last one and rang up at $2.99. Score!)

Tissue!! Kleenex multipacks at my City Target for about .90 cents a box, and then when I bought two, it spat out another $2.00 off coupon, so I went back and got another. Averaged, all my kleenex boxes were about .73 cents each. As far as I’m concerned, this is good. The coupons and sales don’t always match up, so this was a good find! And besides, I won’t need kleenex until next year sometime! It was a challenge getting it home on the bus though!
