American Girl — The originals.

American Girl Wellie Wishers — 14.5″ instead of the original 18″ and a lower price point. Super cute! (also check Costco during the holiday season)

Madame Alexander — These look very similar to American Girl dolls and are priced around $45 – $70. Skip the super expensive options, those may be dolls that are no longer made.

Our Generation Dolls — Offered by Target. A pretty good knock-off but the hair is definitely different. Good for the price.

American Girl Play Scenes & Paper Dolls books — These books focus on the historical characters and would be an inexpensive gift for a girl who already has an American Girl doll.
